This program is best run in 640 x 480 x 16 bit colour mode. It will run in 8 or even 4 bit modes, but this causes a degredation of the graphics. Similarly, increasing the screen size could slow down the graphics.
If the animations run too slowly, try using the menu mode instead.
PC SPECIFIC.
If you are running a version of QuickTime that is prior to version 2.1.2.59 then you may consider installing the version included on this disk. Install the 16bit version on Windows 3.x machines, and the 32bit version on Windows 95 machines. If you do not have QuickTime installed on your system then D-ROM will detect this when first run, and install it for you.
If you are running Windows 3.x then even in 16 bit colour mode you will still find the interface a little "chunky" looking, though the movies will be perfect. This is due to the fact that the background graphics can only be displayed in 8-bit colour.
If you are experiencing "drop out" in any of the songs this will probably be due to the speed of your CD Rom player, or SMARTDRIVE not being configured correctly in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file. Make sure you have your cd caching turned OFF, by putting a "/u" switch after the SMARTDRV.EXE command in your autoexec.bat file. eg - If your SMARTDRV.EXE command looks like this :"C:\DOS\SMARTDRV.EXE 1000 1000", you should try changing it to this :"C:\DOS\SMARTDRV.EXE /u 1000 1000". Also, you should make sure you are using MSCDEX with buffers. If you are, you should have a line in your autoexec.bat file something like this "C:\SBCD\DRV\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD001 /M:20 /V" where "SBDC" is your cd type, "/D:MSCD001" is the location of your cd drivers, and "/M:20" is the number of buffers. If you still experience problems after this, you should find that if you play the song through once and then repeat it you will not get any drop out.
MAC SPECIFIC
Make sure you have at least 8Mb free RAM as otherwise you may experience some sound "dropping out". If you do not have QuickTime on your system, you will need to re-install it from your systems disk.
